Last week, Navelink joined a prestigious lineup of industry leaders at the Digital@Sea International Conference in Copenhagen, Denmark. This highly anticipated event, in collaboration with IALA and hosted by the Danish Maritime Authority, brought together maritime professionals and industry leaders to explore the transformative power of digitalization in the maritime industry. 

 

Day 1 Highlights

The conference kicked off with insightful discussions on “Visions for a Digital Global Maritime Future.”  Speakers like Francis Zachariae, Secretary-General of IALA, and Jeppe Skovbakke Juhl, Manager at BIMCO, shared their perspectives on the value of digitalization in the maritime sector and the key elements needed to unlock its potential. 

Breakout sessions delved into expert presentations and group work, focusing on how digitalization is already reshaping the maritime industry and identifying crucial components of a global maritime digital vision. Head of Navelink, Anders Wendel contributed to the expert presentations during these breakout sessions. Topics ranged from connectivity and cybersecurity to achieving global harmonization in digital initiatives.  

 

Day 2 Highlights

Day 2 saw participants moving from vision to reality, exploring thematic groups to understand what it takes to turn visions into actionable plans. Technology demonstrations showcased promising digital solutions, offering a glimpse into the future of maritime operations. 

Throughout the conference, participants engaged in fruitful discussions on the challenges, opportunities, and concrete actions needed to drive the maritime industry towards a digital future. The event concluded with reflections on key insights and a call to action for all stakeholders to collaborate in making the global maritime digital vision a reality.

Navelink proudly shared the stage with industry leaders as Head of Navelink, Anders Wendel, presented Navelink’s perspective on the digital transformation of the maritime industry. He shared insights about the importance of secure data transmission and the role of a maritime connectivity platform like Navelink in facilitating connectivity.
